While we know that the spaces we inhabit can have a big impact on our emotions, stress levels, and overall ability to feel calm and content, not everyone considers this when designing spaces for children.
Home should always feel like a respite from the rest of the world, and kids need that just as much as we do after a long day at school or dance practice. This girl’s room now has a redesigned and organized closet to house both toys and clothes, keeping the floor space open for play. We chose wall and trim colors that are young and fun, but still soft and soothing. Due to the odd shape and limited space of this bedroom, we once again opted for a sliding closet door (our favorite trick to making small rooms feel bigger).
